No Tricks, Just Treats – Melba Z on the MKE
“Double, double, toil and trouble; Fire burn and cauldron bubble.”
I know Halloween is a weekend away, but I am in the spirit and will treat myself to two spooky events over the weekend:
Friday night will find me at UWM’s production of Macbeth. Nobody does scary better than the Bard, and when you have three witches setting the stage (as quoted above), with spells, curses, and hexes abounding, and blood that somehow won’t wash off, you know you are in for a good scare. It will be performed through the weekend in the 100-seat black box theater at their KSE 508 performance space on Prospect Avenue at Kenilworth. It is an intimate setting, so there is nowhere to hide! Eeeeeeek!
Saturday afternoon, I will take in the Halloween Spooktacular organ concert at the Irish Cultural and Heritage Center at 21st & Wisconsin. There will be highlights from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera with singers and piano back-up; I’m guessing Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D Minor will be part of the spooky organ music section of the program, too.
Bwahahahaha!
