New Projects at Burke Properties
As the seasons change, so do things here at Burke Properties. For the past decade, we have primarily managed multi-family housing communities that we owned. We have expanded in the last couple of months to add two new third-party management properties to our portfolio.
The Brookfield area is up and coming as a “destination location”. Burke Properties is in the mix, as managers of the Lilly Preserve Luxury Apartment Homes complex on the corner of Burleigh Street and Lilly Road. Wired Properties and Phelan Development began building in the spring of 2016 and delivered the first of the three buildings in May. The community received occupancy for its last of three buildings just before Christmas, which will bring the total to 76 units. All units feature luxury vinyl plank flooring, granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances and full-size front load washer and dryers. The amenities include a club room with kitchen, balcony, and fireplace; a business center with wireless internet; a fitness room to meet the needs of all residents. With the completion of the community, residents will be able to enjoy the outdoor grilling stations in the central green. The community has a mid-century modern feel and is located within miles of Mayfair Collection, Kohl’s Corporate and The Medical College of Wisconsin.
Oak Creek has received a lot of attention in the last year. With the announcement of a new IKEA store and the development of Drexel Town Square, “Watch out Milwaukee, Oak Creek is THE destination in Southeastern Wisconsin!” Burke Properties has our hands in the cookie jar by managing the brand new Forge & Flare Apartments in the heart of Drexel Town Square. Again, Wired Properties and Phelan Development have teamed up to develop a beautiful retail and multi-family combination right on Main Street. Forge features 32 units, with downstairs neighbors, Belair Cantina, The Chocolate Factory, and Roots Salon, to name just a few. Flare is expected to be ready early Spring this year with 26 units occupying the 2nd and 3rd floors and retail on the 1st floor. Having Pizza Man as your downstairs neighbor could be potentially dangerous! Both Forge and Flare buildings include a mixture of 1, 2, and 3 bedroom units. All units feature a modern industrial feel, paying homage to the Delco Electronics building, which was built in 1957, and was, at the time, Oak Creek’s largest employer. The land where Forge & Flare stands housed many different businesses, including AC Spark Plug, the AC Electronics Division of General Motors and, finally, Delphi Electronics & Safety, before the plant was closed in 2008. Not only does Forge & Flare supply their residents with multiple retailers all within walking distance, Oak Creek’s newly renovated city hall is directly adjacent to the community, as well.
So, add some sizzle to your Winter season and check out the new offerings from Burke Properties! Both properties still have units available to lease!
