Properties’ owner is committed to his hometown of Milwaukee.
In addition to building homes, apartments and condominiums in the
area, he has remained committed to improving the City, especially
by contributing to public art projects around town. His recent contribution
made a particularly significant addition to the Milwaukee skyline
possible. This addition bears his name. The Burke Brise Soliel (pictured
above) crowns the Milwaukee Art Museum’s addition to its museum.
Designed by world renowned Spanish architect, Santiago Calatrava,
the Burke Brise Soliel is a movable structure – a glass sunscreen
that can be raised or lowered, a sculpture that can be at once building
and bird. Perched on the edge of Lake Michigan it references the crashing
waves, a maritime vessel and while open from the west it can even
become a giant sting ray! Delighting residents and visitors alike,
contributions like these to the city’s art and cultural institutions
make Milwaukee - a great place on a Great Lake - a great place to
live and work!
