St. Andrews Village Condominiums in Muskego
Comparing and contrasting condos always led Bob and Bev Martin back to the same conclusion: St. Andrews Village in Muskego was the best fit for the couple.
“We looked around at a lot of condos and found we were always comparing them to St. Andrews,” Bev said.
So the Martins moved into the development and three years later they have no regrets. “We’re very pleased with our decision,” she said.
St. Andrews, which is being developed by Milwaukee-based Burke Properties, is situated on the 5th and 6th holes of the Muskego Lakes Country Club.
“Some units sit directly on a hole while others simply have views of the course,” according to sales agent Gina Goodwin.
The 48-unit, 24-building project is located next to Champion’s Village, a single-family subdivision, on Ryan Drive west of N. Cape Road. “It is a quiet environment with not much thru traffic at all,” Goodwin said.
It was the proximity to the golf course that first attracted the Martins to the development. They also liked the neighborhood-like feel of the development.
“It’s a nice, quiet place to live,” Bev said. “It feels like we live more on a residential street than the congestion you experience in an apartment-type setting.”
The Martins, who lived in a house in northwest Illinois before moving to St. Andrews, enjoy the hominess of the units. Bev said some condos they looked at seemed to offer kitchens designed for people who didn’t plan on cooking anymore.
“We have a full kitchen, and it’s a nice size,” she said.
In addition, before buying their condo, Bob said they had seen a residence and commercial building constructed by Burke and were impressed with their quality.
Bob said he also enjoys the friendly atmosphere St. Andrews offers.
“(Neighbors) all get together, and we all know each other,” he said. “It’s not just waving when you see someone. We talk. We have socials. If someone is away, people will watch out for each other’s homes.”
Twelve units have been built to date, and two condos are currently available for purchase at $296,900 and $299,900.
St. Andrews has two floor plans: the 1,705-square-foot Eden and 1,617-square foot Kent.
Goodwin said Burke also offers residents the option of adding a second floor with one or two bedrooms, which adds between 421 and 747 square feet depending on the unit type. Some lots in St. Andrews allow for finished walk-out basements, she said.
The city of Muskego, which is in Waukesha County, had an estimated population of 23,190, an 8.4% boost over the 2000 U.S. Census, as of Jan. 1, according to the state Department of Administration.
The neighborhood is served by Muskego-Norway School District, which has 4,921 students, according to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. Students in St. Andrew’s Village attend Lakeview Elementary School, Lake Denoon Middle School and Muskego High School.
